Synopsis

Please join us for another outstanding film so unique it could only come from Italy. This film is a great movie to end our season with and promises to be another crowd pleaser. Don’t miss it!

Carlo is a spoiled and unruly boy who drunkenly causes a serious car accident one night. Manuel is a young drug dealer caught in the act. Both are assigned to do a year of community service at Villa Bianca, a nursing home/assisted living/memory care facility.

Luisa, a nurse who has worked at the facility for years, has the task of helping the two boys deal with the generational gulf between those who are close to the big finish line, and those who still have their whole lives ahead of them.

The Dew Point is where warm and cool air clash, and the warm air is cooled enough to be saturated with water vapor. Below that point, water begins to condense. Above that point, water begins to evaporate.

Il Punto di Rugiada is a metaphor that reflects the point where the generational clash takes a new twist in life; the point where the condensing of old age and the evaporating of the exuberance of youth meet, and where the rules of behavior get challenged by newfound reasons for living. It’s the point where the nostalgia for the good old times which causes a sadness for what is left behind, becomes an energizing force that revitalizes their present and that helps them embrace the final transition, on their own terms, with joy. It’s the point where the old and the new meet, where the past and the present coexist, and the future is embraced with joy rather than fear.

This film is a joy. Join us for this one-time showing of an uplifting story of redemption with a bit of humor as only the Italians can do it.
